Custom Quilt FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials are used in your quilts?
High quality, Quilting cotton (which is 100% cotton) is used for the top and the back of the quilt. It is soft, breathable, and durable — making it the perfect choice for quilts that are meant to be loved and used every day. It washes beautifully and only gets cozier over time.
I offer several types of batting so you can choose the feel that’s right for your quilt:
- Cotton: Classic, breathable, and warm — a traditional favorite.
- Polyester/Cotton Blends: Lightweight, easy to care for, and holds its shape well.
- Bamboo: Ultra-soft, eco-friendly, and has a lovely drape with natural temperature regulation.
Batting depends on how you plan to use your quilt! If you want a traditional, cozy weight, cotton is a great choice. For a lighter quilt that’s easy to wash and wear, go with a cotton/poly blend. And if you love soft, flowing quilts with an eco-friendly edge, bamboo is the way to go. I’ll walk you through the options and help you decide what fits best for your needs.
How long does shipping take?
For Ready to Ship Quilts: Standard shipping takes 5-7 business days. Express shipping is available for 2-3 business days. Custom quilts may require additional processing time of 2-3 weeks.
Made to Order Quilts and Custom Quilts: Each quilt is handmade just for you based on your chosen size, pattern, and colors. Please allow a few weeks for creation before it ships with standard delivery. A little patience = a one-of-a-kind quilt to love for years.
What is your return policy?
Because each quilt is handmade to order with great care and attention to detail, I’m not able to accept returns. Quilts are one-of-a-kind pieces created just for you, and I put a lot of love into making sure they’re exactly as promised.
If you ever have concerns about your order, please reach out — I want you to feel completely happy and confident with your quilt, and I’ll always do my best to make things right.
How should I care for my quilt?
Machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Use mild detergent and avoid bleach. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. For best results, wash quilts separately or with similar colors.
Do you offer custom quilt designs and how does the design process work?
Yes! I do offer custom quilts with your choice of colors, patterns, and sizes. Contact us to discuss your vision and we'll provide a quote. Custom orders typically take 3-4 weeks to complete.
We’ll start with a conversation about your ideas, color palette, and style preferences. I’ll share fabric options and design sketches, and once you’re happy, I’ll begin sewing. You’ll get updates along the way so you can watch your quilt come to life.
Please see question "What’s the cost of a custom quilt?" for pricing information.
What sizes are available?
I create quilts in a range of sizes, from baby (typically 42" x 42") to throw (typically 70" x 70"), all the way up to full, queen, and king. My main focus is on baby and throw-sized quilts — perfect for gifting or everyday coziness. Pricing will vary depending on the size, and if you’re not sure what’s right for you, I’m happy to help you choose based on how you plan to use your quilt.
What is the cost of a custom quilt?
