Color Shift Blue Throw Size

This quilt was created using the Color Shift pattern by Sew Modern Quilts, and from the moment I first came across it, I was completely captivated. The clean lines and modern layout felt like the perfect canvas for playing with a bold, cohesive gradient — something I’d been wanting to explore for a long time.

Instead of keeping the gradient simple, I wanted it to have real visual texture and personality. So I blended together a mix of patterned quilting cottons and beautifully textured linen fabrics. The combination gave the quilt a dynamic feel, with subtle shifts in tone, pattern, and movement that draw your eye from one end to the other.

To finish it, I quilted it with the Dunes design — a flowing, organic pattern that almost feels like wind shaping sand. It adds such a sense of movement and softness, enhancing the gradient in the most natural, effortless way.

From choosing each fabric to watching the gradient come alive under the needle, this quilt has been a creative journey I truly loved. It holds a special place in my heart, and I hope it brings the same sense of beauty, warmth, and inspiration to whoever brings it home.
